Americorps VISTA Member

Galveston County Food Bank

June 2021 – August 2021

-Dedicated my time to the Healthy Pantry Project.

-Healthy Pantry Project focused on developing resources such as demonstartion videos, cooking demonstartions, nutrition education flyers, recipe cards, and more. 

-At Galveston County Food Bank, there were five Healthy Pantry Partners, which were neighboring food pantries in the area as well as Galveston County Food Bank's own pantry. 

- Created meal kits which consisted of a recipe card along with the corresponding shelf stable ingredients.

-Meal kits were distributed to food pantry clients.

-Conducted phone surveys to gain feedback on the meal kits.

January 2019 – May 2021

- Picked up children from school.

-Prepared snacks and meals for kids. 

-Responsible for putting children to bed.

-Organized activities and promoted a safe environment for play and creative learning.
